Young Rovers back in the squad

Genuine good news time as Blackburn have Martin Olsson and Nikola Kalinic back in the match day squad for tomorrows derby at Bolton.

Swedish up and comer Olsson has been out since October and is a welcome addition to a squad that often struggles on the left hand side of the pitch - giving Allardyce options of whether to add him to the attack or the defence.

Croatian Kalinic has been training for the full week after a few weeks off and is ready to rock and roll also as he is ready to push Roberts for a starting berth in the dreaded lone striker role.

However (and we are getting bored of saying this)... Steven Nzonzi, Vince Grella and Keith Andrews all remain sidelined with respective hamstring, Achilles and groin problems.

Why do people want Sam to drop Roberts, not a great finisher but we do get results when he plays, he also scores more than Niko. His touch isn't as good and he looks clumsy, but he makes defenders earn their pay and creates space for others, he's a very undervalued squad player in my opinion and at the moment the most effective foil we have for the midfield to get forward and score, additionally he forces defenders to concede many set pieces
