Emo to miss January fixtures

With Rovers midfield getting a little bit weaker by the day it will not come as a good news moment that Brett Emerton is likely to miss up to 10 games as he is keen to play in the Asia Cup for Australia.

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is due to meet the wonderfully named Australia boss Holger Osieck in due course to discuss terms of his release (god does it sound like prison or what?!) but it is understood that the Aussies are to be somewhat flexible by not forcing Rovers to release Brett 14 days before the tournament as the rules state they must.

If Sam can get the Ashes runners up to be lenient that would allow Brett to play in the christmas games against Stoke and WBA but Brett would not be available for games against Liverpool, QPR, Chelsea and Sunderland... there is also the potential of further fixtures if Rovers progress in the FA Cup.

Either way, with N'Zonzi, Grella and Andrews all out at present we can ill afford to lose players left, right and centre.

Even though i want us to do well in the Asian cup, I would prefer he didn't play in the tournament. Don't think we can afford to lose him for that long.

5-0-5? So that would be a line up of... Robbo, Salgado, Samba, Nelsen, Jones, Givet, EHD, MBD, Kalinic, Benjani, Roberts. FORMIDABLE!!!

Hope the aussies will be paying his wages in this period
