'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Allardyce calls Vince fitness into question (gasp)

Rovers midfielder Vince Grella has become the subject of some worry from Rovers manager Sam Allardyce who has today expressed his concern over the long term fitness of the Aussie midfielder.

Vince has spent more time in a medical facility than an NHS worker in the last two years and has often been mocked by fans for his non-appearance, even starting off a feature in Rovers fanzine 4000 holes called 'Where's Vince?'.

But the man who calls the shots has spoken publicly about Grella and his worry that Vince may never string a run of games together for Blackburn Rovers.

Allardyce spoke to Sky Sports and said - 'He can't seem to get a run of games to maintain the level of fitness we call match-fitness.

'Vince has been unable to do that in his entire time here and has always broken down in some way.

'The concerning thing is it is not a particular area that continues to break down, it is always somewhere different.

'He is experienced, we know how good a passer he is. He has had an impact on the team when he has been available but unfortunately we haven't been able to keep him on the pitch long enough.'

It is obvious that Grella is a bit of a Sam favourite as any time he gets near a pitch he is starting and is the type of character that Allardyce likes.

But how long can he put up with his constant injuries?

Vince don't slam the door on your way out! lol. How much has this guy actually cost us per game? The only sure thing about him is he will get a card at some stage in a game he plays!
Susief
haha, always picking up cards...

Sam should ring up Tugay, to help us broker a deal with Gala.

Hope we can get a few quid for him in January, then the club medics can focus on Getting Dunny fit for 25 games a season.
ITSALLROVER
id let him go for next to nothing to cut our losses, i imagine he is one of the higher wage earners, well per game he is probably the highest paid....
Jayjay42
despite his obvious quality... and my bias... its a real shame that he has been so consistantly injured. i don't think we'll see the turkish millions anytime soon though and his wages aren't the highest

I'd bet my house he will be fit for Australia in the Asian cup!! Where he will no doubt get injured again!! lol
