Salgado does some cheer leading for the boss

Salgado does some cheer leading for the boss

Real Mardid legend and ambassador of sorts for Blackburn Rovers Michel Salgado has praised Sam Allardyce and explained that the former Bolton and Geordie boss is one of the main reasons he came over from Spain to England.

The Tugay twin even backed Big Sam for the England job when it becomes available as he can think of no-one better.

A lot of non-Rovers fans will not be happy with this but a testament from such a cultured player does not hurt his chances.

Salgado told the Lancashire Telegraph - 'Who is better for England than an English manager who understands the English mentality and knows everything about the English game, its strengths and weaknesses?

'He did a great job with Bolton. He is doing a great job with Blackburn Rovers.

'He hasn't had the money to sign the big players. You know the talent of the manager when he has a small batch of players and you are a competitive team. "

'The job he's done over the last few years has been magnificent. He is one of the reasons I came here to England. I spoke with Ivan Campo and he said to me: 'Go, because he likes to work with experienced players'.

'Sam was great. He told me, 'okay, don't hurry, take your time, get used to the British way of life and the club and the style of play because it is so different to Spain'.'

How sweet hey?!

Salgado is a legend. My next shirt has his name on the back. No doubt he would make a great manager one day LH but if he takes that route but he needs the badges and some experience first! Tugay managing with Salgs as his assistant. Imagine that! Ah well I can dream...haha
