'If It's Football, It's Vital'

There is still a place in this world for J-Rob

Jason Roberts is slowly completing his journey from zero to hero and even his least favourite manager has admitted that he is nearly first choice up front.

Jason started the season short on credit and support and even lacking a squad number but has made his way back into contention with a run of two goals in four sub appearances.

He may be angry at the moment and he may want to deck Big Sam one given the chance but he is a man on a mission.

Big Sam commented to the Lancashire Telegraph - 'He is a player who wanted to make a statement and is doing very well at it,'

'He has played his way back into the team.

'We said at the end of the transfer deadline -look you haven't got where you thought you were going to get.

'You thought you were going to get away and you haven't. So you are still a part of the team and if you prove you are the best player to play we will play you'.

'He is forcing his way in and is almost the number one selection for me.'

With QPR and Wigan sniffing around the Grenade it seems unlikely that Roberts will still be hanging around much longer than January but as long as he continues the way he has done in the last two weeks then there is nor harm in him being at Ewood Park.

Striker wise he is definitely just behind Niko right now...

Good to see Sam isn't being overly stubborn by just letting him rot on the bench after they fell out. Right now I think our best lone striker is J-Rob. I'd like to see TUF with J-Rob and Niko at some point though, can anyone recall if that has ever happened? Can't think of even 10 minutes when the two were on together, certainly this season. I know they both like to hold the ball up but they are both capable of making runs off of people too so I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'm not a premier league manager though so that may be why :)).

Maybe they are the same person but in disguises!?

it's hard to see how Niko and Roberts could complement each other, but I want J-Rob to stay longer.

What about Niko and Benjani???
