Blackburn Rovers Academy Update

The Blackburn Rovers Academy has produced many talents over the years, with Phil Jones and Grant Hanley the latest to emerge through our system. With Sam Allardyce providing plenty of opportunities for our youth to 'make it', could we have a few more stars in the making on our hands!

The Academy Squad have enjoyed a somewhat inconsistent season so far. Minus star Phil Jones who believe it or not, is still eligible to play for the Academy, Gary Bowyer's young warriors found them selves facing a run of 3 losses as they turned up to face Stoke City.

However the young lads managed to put away the poor form, destroying the Stoke outfit 5-1, with goals to Robbie Cotton, Jamie Maclaren, Jason Banton (2) and Jason Knowles, allowing the lads to return home with a good victory.

The Academy's record so far this season is 5 wins, 4 losses and a draw, with the lads looking to take advantage of two home games against Man City and Crewe Alexandria...

Lets hope there is more to come from our academy, and hopefully a super striker!
