Brett back to his best

Sam Allardyce is convinced that the form Brett Emerton is displaying in the present moment is the best he has had out of the Australian since Big Sam took over.

Emo has been hit and miss this season with an injury effecting his progress but recent displays against Blackpool, Wigan and especially Chelsea have seen the long serving player back to his full blooded best.

Allardyce was quick to step in with praise for the human battery.

Rovers boss Alladryce said to Sky Sports - "For me this is the best Brett has played since I have been here"

"Unfortunately a few games in he picked up the cruciate ligament injury and last season, while fit, psychologically he never seemed quite able to be his normal self.

"The work rate has always been there but the quality on the ball was never where it is now.

"He has been an outstanding individual for us in the last two games particularly.

"Ever since he came on at Blackpool he has put in the performances that we have been waiting and looking for.

"He has gone from strength to strength since that Blackpool game.

"It is always confidence led. Once things start going right for you and once passes start going right for you, like they are for him, it is a measure of the confidence of the player at the time."

Liverpool game aside I must say I have been impressed with Brett who has come back to somewhere near his best in recent weeks...

Have to admit this for me it's the best he's played in an attacking role. I still think the best form was at Right Back under Sparky. He played well supporting Bentley down the wing.

Personally I feel he is a bit hit and miss.. for me he is performing average.. nothing special.. lacks any confidence when in the final 3rd and can't shoot for toffee.. as far as i am concerned.. he has had 1 great game - against chelsea - and the rest have been average or poor...

he seems to be in form, lets hope he can keep it up. His crosses at least have some power in them unlike pedersons. i dont know about you guys but im really over the slow lobbed type crosses he seems to be putting in the box not to mention the ones from free kicks and corners

Damn straight he is! I think he should replace Pederson on the free kicks too. He has put some pearlers away for the national team!!
