Sam - points not performances mean prizes

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce was encouraged by our showing in defeat to Chelsea but admits that results have not been up to scratch.

Rovers have been poor in recent weeks but Saturday's game at Ewood Park against Chelsea saw a remarked improvement and the only thing that was missing was the end result.

Now Sam expects the players to be a bit more diligent in their dealings and bring home the goods.

Sam told rovers.co.uk - 'We've got to try to produce that sort of performance on a more regular basis and that will then bring us the three points that we are looking for,'

'We are 10 games in so it is a slight concern. We should be on 13 or 14 points at the moment and we haven't managed to achieve that.

'We are one point less than at this stage last year, so I have to say to the players that we have to be careful now.

'We must get results on top of performances.'

The good news for us is that Wigan at home and Newcastle away (on paper) at least are games we can realistically aim to get points from.

Wigan at home is a MUST win...

I think we need a minimum 4 points from Wigan and Newcastle going into 3 very tough games after that. December games look a bit easier on paper but that's when the injuries start creeping in.

our strategy was totally different against chelsea and all other weeks, so big sam is the one who needs to be more diligent in his dealings

Could be a dejavu, last time we was struggling and played wigan we got tonked and one Mr Ince left the next day, If we don't win saturday Sam could face a smilar story, although I hope not as i do think Sam and Rovers are a perfect match
