'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Big Sam wants to take advantage of Pool situation

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is poised and ready to pile the pressure on Scouse boss Roy Hodgson by getting his Rovers troops to perform to top ability on Sunday.

Rovers travel to Anfield on Sunday and Allardyce is confident that more damage can be inflicted on the Reds even as they embark on a new era of new owners.

Rovers may themselves have some new men at the helm shortly but there are warnings of what John W Henry and his new dawn at Liverpool could represent for our beloved Blue and Whites.

"We have to go and be professional and make sure we can perform at Anfield to our very best,' Allardyce said to Sky Sports.

'If we can then we can cause some problems with the lack of confidence that seems to be there at the moment.

'All the pressure of the takeover and the money situation has obviously affected the team. Just like it affected Portsmouth last year, who were relegated.'

Allardyce admitted it was weird to be playing one of the 'Sky Four' with Blackburn ahead of them in the division but saw this as a good thing.

"Liverpool are below us and how often do you play Liverpool when they are below you?' he said. 'Very, very rarely. We have to take advantage of this situation.

'A lot of their players are not playing to their best. If they start playing to their best it will make life very difficult for us.

'But if we can defend like we did against Sunderland then we have a chance'.

Whilst Liverpool are on a downer there are a few things that our boss should be wary of.

Rovers have a history of ending teams bad runs and a set of new owners making their first visit could lift Liverpool to play above their current selves.

This could go either way.

I have a feeling this could be a bad time to lay Liverpool but if we can frustrate them and get the crowd on their backs then we could win...

I think we will win 1-2 and some of my collegues here denmark hope the same so they can get a new manager instead of hodgson. I think this is a huge chance for a win against Pool....cheers

we'll cross our fingers...it actually seems to be a bad time to play them and i heard they have played better in midweek. but hopefully, we can take advantage of their fatigue.

hate playing teams out of form, because there form always reappears when rovers play them, hope im wrong but really not looking forward to this one

They rested gerrard and other key players in midweek, still managed a draw at napoli. Fatigue may not be our advantage, if we get beaten at anfield, they move out of the bottom three, and we'll be in the bottom three. Still no sign of any crisis talk at Rovers, when we are not really doing any better.

Didn't really take advantage did we?!
