Olsson hails the King Kong of the Congo
Rovers midfielder Martin Olsson has hailed captain Chris Samba as someone to look up to and one of the best players in the team.
Man mountain Samba was sent off on Monday night for 'denying a clear goalscoring opportunity' when he stumbled and let in Sunderland's Danny Welbeck, but the mistake was a rare blip on another wise stellar start to the season for Congo's Chris Samba.
Olsson has been quick to back his team mate, who Sam Allardyce has revealed was devastated after the game for letting his team mates down and potentially costing the Ewood Park boys a shot at all three points.
Olsson spoke to the Lancashire Telegraph and said - "He is one of the best players in the team and the way he has been playing for the last couple of seasons has been very good. To be honest he had to take that foul otherwise he comes through and probably scores. Everyone makes mistakes.
"It happens, we know it happens. You can do mistakes and no one will blame him for that.
"I learn a lot from him all the time. He is such a strong guy and he always wants to win. The young guys of course look up to him and we have to work hard and we will play more with him."
The sending off was one of those things in my eyes, Samba made an error and tried to rectify it but in his desperation made things worse.
He has so far been a fantastic captain and Monday night doesn't change that one iota in my book.
