'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Standard Allardyce for England headlines surface

Big Sam has again been linked with the England job after it was announced that Fabio Capello was stepping down (as expected) after Euro 2012.

Big Sam has joined the usual crew of Roy Hodgson, Steve Bruce and the even larger microphone snogger Harry Redknapp in being linked with the position.

Our boss himself seems quite keen as he announced a few weeks ago that he would be looking at international management in a few years time and he is of course... er... English.

Big Sam spoke to the Sun and said - "I remember speaking to Bobby Robson and Terry Venables. They said it's the greatest job you could ever have, so you want to do it,"

'And if you feel like you can do it, you put yourself up for it. I've done that before but came a close second.

'International management does appeal, yes. I'm 55 and a different style of management appeals."

The usual still applies with the Allardyce for England talk - he is good enough on a man management level for the job, no doubt. But whether the Sky Four generation will accept him there or not is a different matter entirely.

He has the expereience but his style of football will always be questioned, and its not the brand the English fans would want I feel

He is good enough of that I have no doubt...

sam could lead the country to glory, sometimes to win you have to employ different tactics.

I think he could do a good job but the media would slaughter him every time we had an average game or a few long balls were sent up the field. I just can't see him ever being offered the job unless we really over achieve and win the FA Cup or something. Shame really, I would rather have whoever is the best English manager at the time to get the job than another big money idiot from abroad again.

Maybe that could leave the door open for Tugay to return as Manager ;)

Id love Tugay to be stood on the sidelines in a smoking jacket with his cheap turkish cigars, that combination is made to win the league.

Can't see Sam being offered the job, Roy Hodgson will get it unless he screws up big time at liverpool. Reason why Sam won't get it, is because of his brand of football. It's effective for us, but not many like to watch. Unless the takeover completes, Sam gets some real funding, and turn Rovers into a real force. Other than that, i can't see him being a contender for England. He should be focusing on managing Rovers, and achieve things with us though.

i think he should have a chance because where ever he goes he gets the best out the players they have, most of all he brings stability, which lets be honest, england dont have as a team. he may not win us a tourny, but he would set a really good platform for the next manager, which i think maybe more important with the kids we have coming through.
