Chimbo would discuss new deal

Rovers defender Pascal Chimbonda would discuss a new deal if one was put to him.

It seems that earlier reports that Chimbonda would wait were inaccurate (how many time have we said that this summer?) and the man known as Chimbo would sit down to discuss options.

'It is true West Ham tried to sign me on transfer deadline day, but Blackburn decided to keep me,' Chimbonda told Sky Sports

'The chairman told me I was too important to the team to sell as I can play at right-back, left-back or centre-back.

'I have heard rumours about a new contract and I would be happy to sit down with the club and discuss a new deal to stay at Blackburn.'

It's hard to keep track of these initial reports followed by retractions!!!

Strange how these conflicting stories get out?!

He's a very handy player to have on standby, but like Lars he started well and went missing

TBD I think when he has played it's usually left back, I know he can play there but he's most definitely better at right back. Be interesting to see if he's offered a deal if the takeover goes ahead.

That was TBF not TBD...lol, damn apple predictive typing!

problem with him though is that he will jump ship first chance he gets, he's done it before a few times, and his attitude isnt great when he isnt first choice, so i wouldnt personally be bothered if he went, in fact i would rather of kept lars as a backup player because he is more professional.....

His versatility could be impoortnat in what will be a long season, If salgado was to get injured then he would be the natural replacement so I say lets keep him
