Chimbonda Contract Talks On Hold

Chimbonda Contract Talks On Hold

Blackburn Rovers defender Pascal Chimbonda is keeping his options open for the time being and is understood to be in no hurry to commit his future to Rovers. If he does??

The 31-year-old defender will be out of contract next summer and that would enable him to leave Ewood Park on a FREE transfer. Sam Allardyce is keen to talk to the former French International about a new contract, however, talks over a new deal are being put on hold until Ahsan Ali Syed's proposed takeover goes through.

TalkSPORT is saying that Chimbonda (who almost left Rovers for West Ham United on Deadline Day) is prepared to wait until January before holding talks with anyone, this would also mean that he could pre-arrange a summer move. However, it's also understood that the former Wigan Athletic and Tottenham Hotspurs defender would be willing to talk to Rovers to find out what the clubs plans are once a takeover goes through, if it does.

Personally I'd not be in the least bit surprised to see Chimbonda organise a pre-transfer agreement with another club in the New Year.

I can see him moving on soon, maybe even January. I think Big Sam will be looking to buy a young up & coming right back, as a long term replacement for when Salgado's had enough.

He's not good enough. Simple. Wasn't good enough for us, isn't goos enough for you. Good enough only for the Spammers, apparently. If Ali Syed takes over, get someone like gregory Van Der Wiel from Ajax. If Al-Syed's money isn't forthcoming in the near future, would you like an Alan Hutton?

Alan Hutton!? No thanks dude... This makes sense for Chimbo to do and we would be silly to offer him a deal right now as we could end up with a Zurab scenario - trying to get rid but tied into a nice deal so he can sit it out.

From 3 right backs to none at the end of this season... Jacobsen out, Chimbonda out, Salgado's contract runs out (would like to give him one more year personally as player ambassador) get Al Syed's cash in and buy someone decent like Van Der Wiel! or Mica Richards..

Emo and a newbie at the end of the season me thinks... but agreed, Salgado should be given a job in the staff or as an ambassador. Big time.

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
