Rovers bounce back against the Canaries

It was a matter of 2 games within four days, with Blackburn rather unfortunate not to still remain undefeated in this years edition of the Barclays Premier League

The trip to Birmingham was always going to be a difficult tie, however Blackburn did have the chances, but just could not seal the game, in which England Keeper Ben Foster put in a superb shift.

A goal to Steven Nzonzi came abouts after consistent pressure from Blackburn, who could count themselves unlucky not to already have been leading, as Morten Gamst Pedersens pin point penalty was spectacularly saved by Foster. However Rovers did get their due rewards, a Gamst Corner flicked on at the near post by Nzonzi and into the back of the net. 1-0 Blackburn

Unfortunately for Rovers, sloppy defending cost them a quick equaliser. A long ball found the far post, in turn crossed in to Gardner, who was left with the simplest of finishes...1-1.

Gardner proved to be the thorn, as he soon bagged a second, 20 minutes from time. After picking up the ball on the half Gardner scooted and blasted from 30 yards, his well struckshot finding the bottom corner of the net, 2-1 Blackburn...

Late chance by Samba hit the woodwork, and Rovers left empty handed....

However it was muchbetter news midweek, as a hattrick from Mame Biram Diouf ensured Rovers headed into the third round, downing Norwich at Ewood Park, 3-1...

Rovers took the lead after 30 minutes, Samba flicking on a Gamst long throw, with Diouf poking in at the far net. Diouf then missed a sitter, striking the woodwork with an open header, whlst Gamst looked strong up front...

It took Rovers until late on to clinch the game, wih Diouf bagging a second and third with his head, and Norwich claiming a late consolation.....

Onwards to Europe!!!

P.S- I did read in the forms a certain someone saying Vince Grella had a great game!!!

P.P.S- Apologies about my absence, last minute thing happened for uni eventuating in me doing part of my work placement a week early!

Welcome back, Sas. How do you view the games in the land of the Kangaroo's? Do they show all the Rovers matches on TV?

mate our cable coverage is second to none.....90% of the prem games are shown live, with daylight saving at the moment, th early game is equivalent to 9.30pm, middle game is midnight and late games is 2pm....when the times change it becomes midnight, 2am and 4am....lol....unfortunately this week we have 9.30pm v arsenal, on a saturday night so il miss it, will be out in town lol Cup games are a different challenge, most of the times i need to find "other means" of watching the game, and if worst comes to worst, its running commentary on sporting life lol
sasman
Nice. It's kind of stupid how the rest of the world seemingly gets better coverage of our league than we do. Thanks to stupid god damn contracts with Sky.
roversfanben
And minus 2hrs off those times for Western Australia. That's one of the reasons why i loved living over there so much. lol :) Good to have you back Sas!!
