Sam happy to give everyone a run out

Sam happy to give everyone a run out

Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has given a massive thumbs up to Rovers Carling Cup match with Norwich as it came with not just the right result but also the chance to play the right players for different reasons.

Young lads such as Junior and Linganzi got a show, players such as Chris Samba were given one more game as they attempt to play catch up with the pre-season they missed and fringe players were given a full match as well.

In fact it is hard to think of any negatives, which for a Blackburn Rovers match is borderline astonishing!

'It was nice to have Vince back and it was nice to have Pascal back on the field and Lars for game and match fitness particularly,' Allardyce told Radio Rovers.

'Chris Samba is catching up because he missed a lot of pre-season. At the younger end, Amine Linganzi and Junior Hoilett got a little run out too.

'We may have rested a lot of players, we made eight changes, but it was still a very strong competitive skilful team we put out.

'And a little try at Morten up the top again which worked very well indeed. So whilst Mame will grab the headlines, he's a lot to thank Morten for because of his movement, his final ball, his delivery was excellent, and that is a nice alternative for me to see.'

The squad is starting to look very exciting this season with a good balance of young talent coming through. If the takeover does go ahead i think maybe just one or two additions in January would be enough.

Haha, Fridel. Wonders never cease. I was gutted to miss the game, I had my season ticket seat all ready but I had to go and get ill! It sounds like everyone played very well, I wonder if he will do an Arsenal and stick with fringe/young players until the latter stages of the competition.

I think as soon as we face an EPL side we will field as stronger team as we have. We don't have the strength in depth of an Arsenal or a Man United.

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
