J-Rob could yet be a Rover again

Rovers transfer listed forward Jason Roberts could yet have a future at Blackburn, if a move for the want away striker doesn't materialise.

At the current asking price that Blackburn have set and the wage demands the player has set there is always going to be a difficulty in getting interest from a new club.

With less than 8 days before the transfer window slams shut, Roberts could yet be left calling Ewood Park his home - something Sam Allardyce has insisted he will have to fight for if that turns out to be the case.

Sam (with reference to tonight's game) spoke to Sky Sports - "Jason won`t be involved. I have decided he is available for transfer and if I play him, I could risk him getting injured.

"That would be the wrong thing to do.

"We have made a decision between us and we will see what develops in the next eight days.

"If he doesn`t go anywhere, then he doesn`t go anywhere.

"It is about being here and knuckling down and getting on with it if that is the case.

"He would like to move on and if that is the case, we could use what money we get in to maybe top up someone else we haven`t targeted at the moment."

Well if we only have two by the time that clock hits zero then surely this makes sense? Even if it is not the preferred option.

Even if we get cover i cant see JR moving at the price currently being asked, Sam states JR wishes to move on but personally i feel Sam wants him to move on and not the other way round.

I think JR is going to be a very expensive bench warmer this season if he doesn't go...

It's only 5 more days to the deadline, it's very unlikely JR will move before the deadline. We'll be stuck with him for another half a season at least. He's on 35kpw, that's the stumbling block to any potential champ clubs taking him.
