Parkes back at Ewood Park

Genuine Blackburn legend Tony Parkes is back at Ewood Park in a new role as a scout.

Tony spent a whooping 34 years at Blackburn Rovers as a player/coach/acting manager and was a tremendous servant to the club in his time.

But he left rather unceremoniously when Mark Hughes wanted a shake up of the staff and dumped Parkes - Our Tony found out he was leaving in a very similar manner to how Beckham found out that Capello was retiring him!

But Parkes is back at the club after Sam enquired about bringing him back to the club he will always be synonymous with.

"I will be scouting part time, helping to make decisions on players to be brought in," said Parkes to Sky Sports.

"I`m really pleased to be back.

"My hunger is back and there`s no better club than Blackburn to be involved with.

"Martin Glover phoned me and said he and Sam would like me to get back involved if I was interested, so I went down to Brockhall to see Martin.

"It is only part time at the moment and we`ll see what develops from there.

"My first game is Wigan v Blackpool, ironically, so I`ll be looking at a couple of players there."

Welcome back Tony. You are always welcome here.
