'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Arteta expects Rovers to be a tough test

Spanish midfielder Mikel Arteta is expecting a tough game from our beloved Rovers tomorrow and just wants to win the game.

Mikel knows what to expect from fortress Ewood and expects a physical test.

The game is nearly 24 hours away and to be fair, Mikel sounds like he just wants the game over - a good sign for Blackburn Rovers as Rovers look to make home a daunting prospect for visiting teams again.

Last season Rovers only lost 3 at home (ironically one of them against Everton) but that matters not this time as Big Sam's men look to kick on from last season where home form will be key again.

'I just want to get the game won and get the points. That would be a big relief,' Arteta told BBC Radio Merseyside.

'It's going to be tough physically and they're going to put the ball in the box a lot of times during the game.'

'So it's not just about us going there and trying to play good football because offensively they're going to make us defend and suffer.'

Shame he should have had a ban carried over from last season when he poked Pedersen in the eye then tried to blame him for it. Up until that point I always admired him as a footballer.

He is very good no doubt about it! But I am confident we can off to a good start tomorrow!!!

Should be an interesting game, a very tough game, but with a fully fit squad I have to say Everton win 2-1.
Rob-EFC
I think 2-0 to the Rovers. With Gamst and Niko scoring.

Prepared to be disappointed, watched your preseason in Australia where you had a pretty decent team and you essentially finished last out of the 4, not to mention the loss to Preston where we completely dominated them. I know it is only preseason, but surely that indicatees something
Rob-EFC
Don't take it out of context but when we won the Premiership we lost every single pre season game. Using Preston pre season friendlies as a gauge for form is a mistake. Maybe you will win (not that I think you will), but it will have eff all to do with pre-season results :)

Rob don't open your mouth too wide before the game... we had that with a certain Chelsea Vitaler last season and he ended up looking a tad silly!
Mikey Delap
Arteta was clearly being sarcastic... easy win for The Toffees!
Vanilla Ice
3-1 to Everton. Being a Burnley-based Evertonian I'm hoping we dish out a good thrashing. Here's hoping.

Yes clearly guys!!! lol...

I stand corrected... the curse of the terrible start strikes again. Moyes should be ashamed, he got it all wrong today!
Vanilla Ice
Rob, We didn't 'essentially' finish last out of the four in the tour of Sydney we finished 2nd. And the pre-season means squat! As you already know by now. :)
