Rovers increase mystery striker bid

Rovers increase mystery striker bid

Rovers have made an improved bid for their main striker target, who remains a mystery.

Rovers have decided to not name the man for fear of a deal being hijacked but early rumours that the man's name is Cristiano Ronaldo seem a little wide of the mark ;)

Rovers chairman John Williams broke the news in a short, sharp and shiny statement.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph - 'We have made an improved offer for a player and are waiting to hear the outcome of it. Negotiations will be ongoing this week.'

The plot thickens...

Crouch is available for around £7 million, that should've been a comfortable sum for us after all our high profile sales last season but we all know this mystery man we're after will be about £3 million.

Sky sports reckon it's Utaka from pompey. Can't be no more than £3 million surely if it is.

Sky say it is Pompeys Utaka Hope not, his goal scoring record in the premiership is abysmal, something like 7 goals in 3 years I think. Keep the millions to pay off part of the bank debt. Even Roberts is better than Utaka.

I hope not as well I don't think he's the elusive goalscorer we're after. I know a few clubs are after him though, thought he was off to Rangers.
