Grella set for Galatasaray - Take 2!

Blackburn Rovers are ready to sell Australian midfielder Vince Grella to Turkish giants Galatasaray.

In case you thinks 'hang on, this is old news', it is, but the Turks are back in for him.

The deal to take the injury-plagued star out of Ewood Park is back on as Gala have decided to come up with better terms to offer the player alongside the £2 million that Rovers would receive.

The transfer failed first time around as Grella could not agree a package for himself but this time the move could be on.

Personally, I think that Big Sam will be keen to lose a player that is in his 'expendable' bracket... £2 million could be the difference between signing a good striker and not doing so.

The only scary thing is that this would make Keith Andrews our second choice holding midfielder.

Could happen??? Even if the man himself in Aussie denies it!!! ;)

But if sas is right then jones could be tried on the midfield and Salgado is also acceptable on the back midfield, so I don't see problem. Who do you have before Keith, Delap?.....Cheers

Steven N'Zonzi my good man...

If the funds from this help speed up a striker transfer then I'm up for it. We havn't seen Grella at his best so that is a shame but he has had 2 years.

I totally agree Frans, Will be sad to see my fellow Aussie go, But lets face it he is getting on in age and i can't see him ever being in the form he was in Italy, So use the money to get a striker in. And from what we saw of Jones last night he looked very comfortable in the midfield and i would really like to see him play there more, he has the talent and the confidence to attack and make something happen.

Did Jones look THAT good then???

Mikeys right, N'Zonzi, with a brief from Sam to also keep shooting more from outside the box. He could be rivaling Dunn for most goals next season. Except for our new striker and Niko each scoring 20! If we can't get a 20 goal a season striker, Sam needs to encourage and train all the midfield to shoot more, instead of passing and passing from one to the other and eventually have their defence block the final (telegraphed) shot. We need to be more direct this season. We have the quality in midfield to do that but much of the time they seem frightened to shoot. Is this down to instructions from the coaching staff? I know that it is old fashioned to shoot from outside the box but this very fact,, that defences don't expect it (especially from Rovers) will catch the defence off-guard. As a spectator I would love to see that, even if most of the shots go high, wide or hit the post, the shots that go in and the lobs over the keeper, Wow! A couple like that on TV would bring more fans back to Ewood to bolster the takings, to afford a striker. Am I living in 'cloud cuckoo land' or does anyone else agree?

We also have Linganzi he should also be guy that could play the role....Cheers

Mikey, He looked very comfortable and strong on the ball, He was moving forward when the others seemed to be going backwards. Was great to see the kid step up and do some attacking he's pretty quick too, and he seem to make the midfield more lively!

Jones looked amazin in midfieeld! He did this turn and pass on the run, Sam turned to the rest of the coaching staff with amazement

Fair play to him.... put him in there I say! With him in the middle alongside the Zonz and Nelly and Samba ta the back that is a good spine!!!

I haven't seen Jones in midfield yet, but sounds like he's doing well in the new role. This can only means good news for Rovers, cause we got another versatile quality player. By the way, is Amine Linganzi a holding midfielder? and how's he doing in the friendlies so far?
