Rovers distance themselves from Heskey link

Blackburn Rovers are not after Emile Heskey.

There were reports in various media sources yesterday that Rovers had bid for the burly donkey but those reports seem somewhat wide of the mark.

Heskey is ready to leave Aston Villa and Rovers need a striker so it seemed a decent fit but the problem is that Rovers need goals more than anything else and with the greatest respect to Ivanhoe... he isn't a goal machine.

The pursuit of a striker is ongoing (hasn't it been like this all summer long?) but we are pretty certain here at Vital Blackburn HQ that the man in question is not the much maligned England 'legend'.

Personally I am not that keen on Emile. He is not what we need in my eyes...
