Emerton - 'I am a Rover through and through'

Rovers stalwart Brett Emerton has put to bed any suggestion he will be anywhere other than Blackburn Rovers next season.

Emo was linked in the media a few weeks ago with a move to Galatasaray and as the speculation began to build fans were worried that a move may be on the cards.

But with the World Cup now a collection of memories, Emerton has quashed any lingering doubt that he could offskies with a short, sharp statement.

Our Brett, spoke to the Lancashire Telegraph and said - "I'm sick of speaking about it. It was only speculation. It was a rumour started in the media, and it snowballed.

"I was disappointed by it and I let the journalist who started it know how I felt. I would love for the speculation to be put to rest. I have two years left on my contract and I intend to finish there."

Thank you Brett, nicely said as well.

I agree here, awesome words from our man... I thought that talk was just speculation but you never know until the player speaks! Well done Brett!!!

Good On Ya Emo, too many hacks without any facts these days especially prior to the new season.

Great to hear Emerton's committment to Rovers. He's one of our longest serving players, after Brad Friedel, Tugay, Henning Berg left. One of the good buys by Graeme Souness. He's solid at right back.
