'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Another day, another name, today - Dos Santos!

Rovers are reported to be in the market for Spurs and Mexico star Giovani Dos Santos.

'Gio' as he is known is widely considered to be surplus to requirements at Spurs having failed to settle at White Hart Lane, probably due to the time it takes to get from the Tube stop to the ground in North London.

Dos Santos spent last season on loan at Ipswich and Galatasaray (two very similar destinations) and looks to have a hard job getting back in to the reckoning at Tottenham with their vast playing squad.

So a move would suit him and by the looks of things, Rovers are keen to revitalise the little lad.

Dos Santos is not primarily a striker but is a flair player that plays off a main striker (say hello Niko and J-Rob) or on the right wing. His performances in the World Cup for Mexico show that he is a lot better player than the TV cameras in England would have you believe.

A loan move or a permanent switch could be an option here for Big Sam and the Blue and White Army.

Could be interesting this one as he is a handy little man and wouldn't cost too much.

Quality kid, a quality winger here, if we can afford him.
metalrover

As a season ticket holder at White Hart Lane I can honestly say we aren't really sure how good Gio actually is as we haven't seen an awful lot of playing time from him in the last two years. Media speculation, backed up by Harry's recent comments, suggest that the little fella's main problem has been his propensity to attend rather too many parties than is good for a professional sportsman. I hope he stays at Spurs, gets his head down and is given a chance to show us what he can do. If not, then a move out of the capital might be just what he needs. Oh, and you might want to try getting the train to White Hart Lane or Northumberland Park next time you're down here - both very close to the stadium and a much shorter walk than Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale.

Why the hell not, he did play for Barcelona so he can't be that bad.

This would be great! I've always thought this kid was going to shine, (he's always one of the first people i pick up in the video games haha) I see a lot of mexico games here in the states, and he is regularly the stand out player. Always wanted to see him in a rovers shirt, so i sincerely hope this isn't just newspaper talk

It really is another day, another name....so what have we had to date? dindane, piquionne, guti, tuncay, raul, lewandowski, beattie, nugent, the japanese guy, the brazilian guy, aristide bance...who am i missing? and this week its been ngog and now dos santos, im getting worried about the fast approaching season and the fact that we are fairly limited in attack, i hope we sign someone sharpish, we are going to struggle with just j-rob, kalinic and half season dunny our seemingly only eyes for goal
luke5045
imagine the options of olsson on the left flank, gio on the right flank, Kalinic up front with Dunn just in behind him....and Hoillet off the bench....im excited!
