Bury Sign Rovers Winger Howarth

Blackburn Rovers winger Andrew Howarth has joined Bury on a FREE transfer.

Howarth had spent several spells away from Ewood Park on loan before being deemed surplus to requirements by Sam Allardyce and has joined the League Two side on a two-year contract.

The 21-year-old winger (who can play right or left, however, is more a right-sided player) leaves Rovers after two first-team appearances, both of which came against Sunderland in the Carling Cup (2008) and then the FA Cup (2009), however, he Howarth failed to make his League debut.

Sad to see him go but judging by how he didn't get a look in under Allardyce it isn't a big surprise.
