Player Least Missed This Season

With your help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2009-2010 season.

The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2009-2010 continue to be dished out with the PLAYER LEAST MISSED THIS SEASON.

THE WINNER: Aaron Mokoena

When asked to simply leave the name of the player you felt had been missed the least this Season (injured or sold) most felt Aaron Mokoena should be the Award Winner! So congratulations I suppose go to the Axe who went on to play in an FA Cup Final but also got relegated with Portsmouth!!

This is what people had to say on this category, which can also be viewed by clicking here.

rover23 said: "As much as it may shock some people... Santa Cruz... For me.. he spent that much time on the injury list that I have not missed him much this season..."

Mikey Delap said: "I will say the Axe as he wasn't much to replace anyway!!!!

My vote - Aaron Mokoena.
"

fransavarese said: "I'll say Danny Simpson, didn't do much whilst here and we have 3 replacements - all better than him. Especially Super Salgado."

LHrover said: "Danny who? he sure gets my vote, don't want to say Roque, as we have missed a striker who can score goals."

BomBom said: "Santa Cruz, did sod all last season.

Season before would be a different story but hey ho.

Didn't miss his continual sound bytes "I was misquoted" either!
"

spinaker said: "I think its gotta be Benni McCarthy... how we managed to offload him for £2.5 million i'll still never know!!"

sasman said: "The axe! though he was a good club man, poor fella, i change my mind, Danny Simpson!"

blackburnsean said: "Mokowena, bag of crap."

ITSALLROVER said: "Aaron Mokoena."

FreidelNo.1 said: "Sorry Team-Benni - my vote goes to big round, sound as a pound, Benni McCarthy - the West Ham fans have voted for him as player least missed this season too... or was that most misses... or can't miss him!"

oziroversfan said: "Mokoena for me."

Thanks for voting on this, however, please keep your votes coming in for these other Awards as there is still time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want.

Next to be dished out will be the Award for the BEST ROVERS PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON so keep voting!! (Click here.)

Awwww.... poor Axey!!!
Mikey Delap
Vince Grella.... Never created anything for us on-pitch... and on those rare occasions where he's injured he would come out with motivational and empty promises to the press about how we still (after a year and a half) haven't seen the 'real' Grella....

Got to be Mokoena, he's been poor for us. Hardly got to start at Rovers, played a bit part role for us, left and Pompey went down. He captained South Africa and didn't even made the knock out rounds. Wise decision to boot him. He's one rare poor Mark Hughes signing.

Kind of disagree there metal on the poor Mark Hughes signing. Remember when Mark Hughes took over, the style of football we played suited the Axe perfectly. He did have that holding role, where all he had to do was tackle alongside Robbie Savage whilst Tugay pulled the strings. So for that particular era, he was good. Too bad Blackburn evolved, and the Axe didnt!
sasman
I liked the Axe, always tried his hardest even if he wasn't good enough, never really moaned until he had to fight to lead his country out in their WC, in their own back yard (which is understandable). Similar to Ooijer, good honest player but wasn't really missed.
