Rumour has it Rovers have held talks with Boyd

It seems that everybody in the media is absolutely convinced that Rovers have begun talks with ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd.

Boyd is a free agent as of this morning and has told Rangers he won't sign a new deal as he wants a fresh challenge - and when somebody Scottish says that it normally means 'will somebody in England please sign me'.

That somebody appears to be our beloved Blackburn Rovers who reports have it have opened talks with Kris over a move.

It seems to fit as well, Boyd is free and a goalscorer, things that are on the checklist at Ewood Park at the moment (anyone picturing a massive clipboard is excused right now).

More details will follow from our man in the know as and when, but until then you will have to make do with my information.

I'd also be happy with big Kris, he knows where the net is, and has the strength for the prem, could make a good partner for Kalanic because Kalanic is always having to hold up the ball on his own (which he does well considering his experience) but if Kris can come in and we play 4-4-2 it gives Kally the chances to run the channels rather than be the 'lob to' guy

Yes make this happen quickly and then straight in for Guti!! would be very pleased as he is a goalscorer, just what we need and also a freebie.

Not happy with this. Boyd is dog*****. We sold Matty cos all he did was score goals and I remember Allardyce saying a striker needs to do more than that in the modern game. If he signs Boyd he will be signing a player who brings less to the team overall than Matty did. Also I wouldn't read into his goalscoring in the SPL as its not exactly the best barometer of a players ability.
