Vital Blackburn Special Achievement Award

Vital Blackburn Special Achievement Award

With the end of season awards coming to a close at the end of this month, I thought I would get the ball rolling with our first ever 'Special Achievement Award'.

Since Vital Blackburn started back around 2004/05 the site has been run almost exclusively by Walker, that is until recently.

This award is to honour 'the boss' as I like to call him and to show gratitude for the magnificent site we have before us today.

When Walker took over the reigns (when it didn't even have an editor), the site was in its infancy, there were barely any members and the site running was a one man show - with roversman doing the match reports alongside Walker.

None of the environment and banter that takes place today would be possible without the incredible effort and time consuming work that Walker has put into Vital Blackburn.

My job as the new editor is really as easy as you can get because of Walker - I get to run a site that already has a flourishing fan base with 2 excellent co-eds in Bom Bom and Sasman who were also hired by the man in question.

His job was never that easy as he had to build it up from scratch, he kept the faith and believed in the site and as a result five years later we are as strong as ever.

Walker stood down as editor in May due to his work commitments but still remains an integral part in the background running of VB.

In a way it was the end of an era but the legacy he left on the site still lives on.

Enjoy the first ever Vital Blackburn Special Achievement Award Walker - the original and only Vital Blackburn legend.

Firstly well done to walker and good luck to the rest of you for taking it on. It was always a great site in the last few years and as a site ed myself, I fully understand the time and effort it takes to get and keep the sites active and interesting. Hers to another good season :-)

superb staff, Walker ran this place too perfection, and gave me an opportunity to contribute as an editor ( been quiet last few days, man flu!) which has been greatly appreciated. Im sure his experience will always be around, with he indeed contributing as time allows

Thanks a lot everyone this really means a lot to me and was completely unexpected. It's been an honour to run Vital Blackburn and all the VBers made it so much easier. The torch has been passed to Mr Mikey and he'll not let anyone down. Thank again, I don't get on very often anymore and have not even really turned on my computer during my holiday so didn't know about this until the weekend when I saw an e-mail about it.

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
