Rovers chasing Rapid man

Rovers chasing Rapid man

Blackburn Rovers are today being linked with the signing of Rapid Vienna striker Nikica Jelavic.

The 24-year-old striker is actually a former partner of Nikola Kalinic (not in a romantic sense obviously) as they played together at Split for 2 years.

Rovers are reportedly watching the up and coming hitman with a view to making a move if they like what they see - similar to a man spying an attractive lady at the bar, but this time Rovers have some dosh and career prospects to dangle in front of the approached.

It is said in the Mirror that 'manager Sam Allardyce views Jelavic as a prospective striking partner to fellow Croatian Nikola Kalinic at Ewood Park.'

Well makes sense doesn't it but how much does the lad cost?

We don't have the dosh yet! He will have to cost a lot less than Niko that's for sure. IF the takeover goes through I'm hoping we have a bit more to spend but I don't wanna jinx it!

not a blackburn fan but this guy jelavic seems like a excellent choice for you guys. he is big and very strong, excellent in the air, he has got some pace and at the moment he is scoring for fun. last season he scored plenty of goals in the austrian bundesliga and a fair few in the europa league as well including home and away against villa to help knock them out and home and away against celtic as well. recently has been a regular for croatia in their last few games. last time i heard he was wanted by hamburg and celtic and the price was around 4-5 million.
