Grella to Gala is OFF

Vince Grella's move to Galatasaray is off.

The deal was cancelled after personal terms were unable to be agreed and the Turkish outfit informed Rovers that their interest was over.

Rovers were set to receive £2 million for the injury prone midfield battler but will now welcome him back for pre-season training after the World Cup.

Allardyce has made it known that he is a fan of Vince and sees him as a good member of the squad but that he would have welcomed the money for him to bolster his striker search.

To be fair, I don't think this is a bad thing. Vince is a more than capable player on his day , the main thing will be keeping the fella fit.

Can't see we are getting Guti without selling someone....cheers

good news here!

Very bad news.. hes not as good as anyone makes out.. i'll judge him on what hes been like since we signed him.. and not about how he played before.. because thats not important.. hes been a bad player... hes not done much good for £4 million.. and now we wont get Guti.. major set back..
rover23
indeed Guti must be out of the window if this is the case.

I am inclined to agree with Rover23... this is a major setback in terms of what money Sam will have at his diposal. Its a real shame because I would loved to have seen a player the calibre of Guti don the blue & white halves... but I cant see it happening now. A decent enough sriker to partner Kalinic is and must remain our no.1 priority... if that means this is our only signing this Summer... then so be it!!

Hey, how about, someone rings up fulham, pretending to be Andrews agent.. tell them hes back on the market, avaiable for 2 million, and get them interested again! haha best we can hope for now!

I'm happy with this. :) He is a good player when he is fully fit.

i'm not disappointed to see Grella staying. Our midfield is not very strong, only Nzonzi is the other defensive midfielder. If Grella deal went through, Sam is not looking to replace him with another midfielder. Reid's gone to WBA, so Grella staying is actually good news to me. He's a decent holding midfielder who i believe will be an asset for us. Sam will need to consider other options to booast his kitty for a striker.

Grella and N'Zonzi have always played well together to be fair. What about us selling Bunn and Khiza? That will raise some dough!!! The £2 million we would have made from Vince...
Mikey Delap
Delap, who will buy those two for a mill each? Bunn 0,5 mill and Khiza the same if anybody want to buy, think they would loan him again.....cheers
riisenholt
Sheffield United were set to bid £1 million for Bunn a few days ago!!! And Khiza wages would save us about £1 million a year (not far off!)!!!
Mikey Delap
this is very good news. lets get positive and with a rest, grella will be a massive influence on the club
