Young Rover picks up Rotherham award

Morning all.

An interesting story from the other day that concerns on-loan Rover Marcus Marshall who is with Rotherham United.

This article has been absolutely 100% stolen from Vital Rotherham and credit must go to Vital Editor Herringthorpe...

This is a trophy that is awarded jointly by Internet sites, Millers Mad and Vital Rotherham United in honour of MITCH CASSELL who sadly died of head injuries received in a road accident in January 2007.

Mitch was a pupil at Wingfield School and his friends still gather on his birthday to remember him.

He, alongside his Grandad Ron, was a season ticket holder at Millmoor although his big ambition was to play cricket for England.

Mitch had a wicked sense of humour and loved Peter Kay. He also loved to watch Top Gear and eat Sunday dinners.

Wouldn't he have been proud to see the Millers running out at Wembley on Sunday.

The Trophy is given to the most promising young player of the season and this year it was decided that MARCUS MARSHALL should receive it.

We interrupted training this morning and Mitch's Auntie Tracey presented a rather surprised looking Marcus with the Trophy (though not that surprised that he gave her a kiss!)

Well Done Marcus and thank you to Jimmy Mullen for allowing us to do this and to the rest of the squad for their participation.

* Well done to Marcus from all at Vital Blackburn and good to see Vital getting on the board with some stealth training ground access.

No probs Mikey! And we sort of 'crashed' training! Could hardly say no once we were there! lol

Won't be a Rovers player in 26 days time. His contract is due to expire.
