Rovers Fletcher link is laughable
Finally. Finally, someone has come out and removed this 'Steven Fletcher is in line for a move to Blackburn Rovers' nonsense.
It was always likely to be a throwaway bit of gossip for a number of reasons.
The Lancashire Telegraph, the press and Sky Sports have today accepted that the move will not happen and I for one am pleased.
Think about it -
* The man is a (soon to be ) former Burnley player.
* He spent most of last season in a withdrawn role out on the wing, a position which does not need filling.
* He scored 8 league goals, yes I know we are hardly raking them in but still, for the money we could do much better.
* He is reported to be on the market for £6.5 million, which is roughly the entire summer budget.
*He is not really what the media love to call a 'Sam type of player'.
Time to move on.

Im a Burnley fan, i dont care what you think but you should get your facts right:

He has not, he has mostly been a lone striker.
"He scored 8 league goals"
With 2-3 choked off.

How much did Nikola Kalinić cost? £6m was it and he scored what 2-3 goals. He cost us £3m with a reported 15% sell on clause, so he is worth £6.5m

Thats true, he likes the ball at his feet, not over his head.

Extra finger must make your typing harder. If you want comparisons Kalinic had goals chalked off as well. Kalinic played only half the season. He was quite prolific in the cups for us. Kalinic is young and WILL score goals. He isn't at his peak which Fletcher should be at his age. If he cost you £3m and you got relegated...it generally means a cut price deal to get him off the wage bill so the price will go down not up. 8 goals doesn't more than double your pricetag. Say what you like about Sam but I'll be enjoying supporting a Premiership team next season. Laws will only see Burnley go further down as he is a clown. Coyle was the reason you played attractive (concede more than you score) football and he jumped ship so don't expect to stay that way. Like you said though..."I don't care what you think but you should get your facts right" haha.

This was just never going to happen in a million years. Just like Burnley he started well but was pants in the second half of the season. 6.5 million???? more like 3 if you're lucky.
