Dindane snubs football for money

Rovers target Aruna Dindane has agreed to go to Qatar to ply his trade after snubbing moves to Rovers, as well as Wolves and Bolton.

Dindane has been a long term target, but a lot of faffing around on his and his agent has resulted on this issue dragging on longer than it really should.

The Mail says - 'The Ivory Coast striker, who impressed on loan at Portsmouth from Lens this season, has agreed a three-year deal with Al-Shorta.'

Well, at least it is a nice pay packet for the guy.

Crazy.. I thought he was quite a good player. Do they really earn more in Quatar??
JT_daniel
Yeah JT, they really do. A lot of money is being pumped into the game over there by rich businessmen and government as they seek to improve its image as they are bidding for the 2022 world cup.

I wouldn't be too disapointed I though he was aweful at pompey missed a huge amount of sitters. Im not suprised he went to qatar, he knows he's not good enough for the prem and wont get another opportunity to make high wages.
Tsunami
Tsunami are you a Pompey fan? If so what do you make of Piquonne (sp?)? Rovers have been linked with him and I've read mixed reviews on him.
Durks
Obviously he has high ambitions to succedd in the game!
FreidelNo.1
What a fool, Bolton, blackburn or wolves could have been good clubs for him, he seemed at pompey that he could have been a good premiership striker but seems another money grabber and probably wants to be the best player in quatar not exactly hard though haha.

Durks, I am a Pompey fan. Piquionne is very much like Dindane; they are both very good on their day, but on the other hand if you had to see them week in, week out, you'd realise that they are not very good. They can be ok in the premier league with teams aspiring for salvation. They miss more than they score. Nowhere near the Crouch and Defoe partnership we had.
Pompey Malta
I am disappointed in him! He said he wanted to stay in the PL. He is nowhere near retiring and this move seems to be stupid when it comes to football. Anyway, that is his decision!
Pompey Malta
More of a move you make when you are 35 isnt it? Unless you are Guti... who will come to Rovers :)
Mikey Delap
Can't say i'm too disappointed about Dindane. Like the sound of Guti and Raul though, you never know... stranger things have happened in football.
ITSALLROVER
sounds like we are pretty close to snaring guti!!!! wow!...dont know where that would leave us in terms of finances to snap up a decent striker! might have to settle with benjani on a free i guess
sasman
Benjani ona free and Guti would be a good summers work...
Mikey Delap
Eugh! Benjani.. don't say that... hes ****.. id rather take Ledley and a decent striker than Guti with Benjani...
rover23
Benjani is actually a really good player, he was awesome at portsmouth and then went to city and had a decent 1st season but was plagued by injury, if fit he would be an excellent addition to any of the bottom 10 sides.
