Olsson gets first Sweden call up

Olsson gets first Sweden call up

Martin Olsson has been rewarded for a cracking season at Blackburn Rovers with his very first call up the senior Sweden National Squad.

Olsson has been a mainstay in the Sweden under 21s for quite some time but few can argue he deserves a crack at the proper stuff after proving he a storming player - both at left wing and left back.

Olsson spent the first few years at Ewood Park as an unconvincing fringe player but since January has arguably been Rovers best player.

After the game against Bosnia and Herzegovina for the seniors, Olsson will then drop back into the under 21 squad for their qualifiers for the UEFA Under 21 championships.

Well done Martin.

Pleasing to see that Rovers' players get a fair chance and not all of them get overlooked on the international scene ;)
