Report : Allardyce on West Ham manager shortlist

West Ham have drawn up their managerial short list to replace sacked manager Gianfranco Zola ... and one of the names on their list is Blackburn Rovers manager Sam Allardyce.

Sky Sports News are reporting that Allardyce is alongside other managers including Avram Grant, Dave Jones and Ian Holloway who they are seeking permission to speak to about the vacancy.

Allardyce is now settled at Rovers but West Ham are keen to appoint in due course and view Sam Allardyce as someone they would be keen to bring in.

But would the board let him go? Would Allardyce want to go to a club where money is even shorter than it is at Rovers?

Seems unlikely given all the ground work he has done at Ewood Park but it does make you think...

lol West Ham does not have a chance of luring Big Sam. besides, i think Avram Grant is a great manager and they'd do well to secure him

I don't think BS would want it - especially after the Newcastle fiasco - at Rovers he has the control he wants, at WHam the two rich morons run the club. I'm not sure Sam would want that problem. However, if Sam wanted to go, I'b be disappointed, but I'd say good luck to him.

according to soccernet.com, it says he would accept if the position is offered to him. i would be very shocked indeed as he seems very proud about what he has achieved at blackburn and would certainly want to build on that next season. the hammers may have a bigger budget, but we have a better squad here, at least one more to his liking. it would be ironic if benni got reunited with the boss he was trying to run away from.

Honestly believe it would be a great thing for you getting a few million for the fat man. Then get Hughsey back.
