Guti and Raul to Rovers? Really?!

Guti and Raul to Rovers? Really?!

The big news that Bom Bom promised us is in - Blackburn Rovers are interested in Guti from Real Madrid. Even Raul is being considered!

As reported in the Vital Blackburn forums yesterday, Vital Blackburn reporter Bom Bom promised us a shock and it has been duly delivered, Guti could be on his way to the Premier League... and to East Lancashire.

Now I must stress this is merely just gossip at this point but there IS a genuine interest from Sam Allardyce to bring in these two players... who are both available on a free but carry potentially big wages.

Both players would need to have their wages reduced for them to move to Ewood Park but we do have a guy that can be a deal breaker and a wildcard in this shock move - Michel Salgado.

Salgado moved to Ewood from the Bernabau last summer and has spoken of how he highly recommends the move to anyone, including ex-team mates.

The Guti move is much more likely with his wages not being anywhere near as high as Raul's and he is actively looking to move from Real this summer. For a read of the full story in this mornings People newspaper just click on the link at the bottom of the article.

Allardyce himself fancies trying to lure these big names to Blackburn and believes he can make it work with the help of spokesperson for the club Salgado.

This would be without doubt the craziest transfer story in years if it came off and would probably see season ticket sales go through the roof...

Can we dream?

One thing is for sure is that we all now know why Michel Salgado gets £45,000 a week.

Can you imagine it? Guti, Raul and Salgado in the same Rovers side? Go back 10 Years and we'd have to be minted again to get these names. Concerned about Raul, not sure he is up to the PL pace but Guti is a great technical player who can be our new "Tugay". If this gets done, Reid, Zurab, Grella and Chimbo are all on the block as would be a lot of younger players such as Judge and Doran to cover the incoming wages. Not sure that we should sacrifice so much for falling stars but heres hoping.

Gotta say with our youth team, we no longer need squad players in there late 20s/early 30s.. Chimbonda, Grella, Reid, Andrews, Zurab, when we have Jonesy, Hanley, N'Zonzi, Hoilett, Linganzi who are equally as good on half the wage! bringing these 2 in would help to develop our players.. with experience which our money could not buy... as in there day.. both these ex-galacticos would have fetched 15m+ each!

I'll beleive it when I see it! Raul won't join Rovers - he'll retire at Real.

What about Guti though? Bit more realistic I think...

Not sure about Guti either - again he's played at Real all his life and I think he'd want to retire there. He fell out with the manager but he'll be fired and replaced for next season. Don't get me wrong, I'd love Guti to come (I think Raul is past it) but I really can't see it happening.
