Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has leapt to the defence of Paul Robinson after he was left out of the England 30 man squad for the World Cup this summer.
Fabio Capello has instead decided to roll with David James, Robert Green and Joe Hart for the summer showpiece but this has rankled with the Rovers manager who feels Fabio must not like something personally about Robbo.
There is certainly no doubting his ability and form - something which Fabio Capello apparently loves to pick players on.
Allardyce speaking to Sky Sports said - 'I am staggered totally. It is completely the wrong decision. If you look at his form for Rovers, there has not been a better goalkeeper who has been so consistent.
'It clearly can't be anything else then Fabio has something else against him, because he has always said the people in form would get selected.
'There is nobody better than Paul Robinson at the moment, so there must be something before that that has happened to put him off him as a person and not as a goalkeeper.'
Allardyce continued to back his man and feels that this decision is crucial to the chances England have at the World Cup and could cost Fabio dear.
Allardyce continued 'gently' - 'He has made the biggest mistake of his selection process has Fabio. As much as I respect him for what he has done that is one big, big mistake.
'Thirteen clean sheets speak for themselves. There has to be other reasons why he hasn't selected him because there is nobody in better form than Paul Robinson.
'Perhaps Harty can run him close but he hasn't got 40 odd England caps of experience and hasn't played in any major championships before.
'So it would be much more valuable having Paul Robinson there than it would be to have Joe Hart. 'Never mind the David James scenario, who is spasmodically in and out because it seems he has a bit of an injury problem.
'I am really disappointed for him and I am really disappointed Fabio hasn't selected him but I am bound to say that because I am Paul Robinson's manager.'
Why don't you tell him what you really think Sam?!?
