'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Diouf's been in trouble AGAIN

El Hadji Diouf has once again lost his common sense - this time at the road side as it has emerged he has been driving in the United Kingdom for seven years... WITHOUT A FULL UK DRIVING LICENSE.

Known for his flash cars and his lavish tastes, Diouf has been a mainstay in the 'disliked footballers' category ever since he rocked up at Liverpool back in 2002.

Diouf was penalised for driving offences recently but it has since come to light that he has been without a license in the UK for all this time.

Linda Sanderson, communications manager for Lancashire Road Safety Partnership, wa first to wade in as she slammed Diouf.

She spoke to the Lancashire Telegraph and said - 'These high profile footballers should be setting a good example.

'We've been into the club to give speed awareness courses to the young players. The older players are their role models as well as other young men.

'With any employee, the organisation has a duty of care. Blackburn Rovers do a lot of good work in the community and this one player is undermining it.

Terry Hannon, a resident in the area of Blackburn, who along with his wife has been campaigning for road safety after the death of their son back in 2006, has also highlighted Diouf's silly behaviour.

Mr Hannon again spoke to the Lancashire Telegraph to condemn Diouf - 'When you get in cars like he drives, you've got to be extra careful. And he has been speeding as well, silly lad.

'We've all been young lads, but unfortunately I've seen the consequences of what happened to Matt and it makes you think.

'As a Blackburn Rovers player, he's supposed to be a role model, but he's not much of one if he's not driving safely.'

Is this the final straw for Diouf? One thing is for sure... he is a silly, sily boy.

1.5 mill and someone can have dioufy!!!
sasman
7 years? lol... no, i would not sell him for 1.5. not a chance
retroflair31
are you kidding sas? hes worth over double that!
rover23
We bought him for £2 million and he has got a year older since then... I would take £2 million, especially considering the baggage we have.

If he has no licence that means he has no valid insurance - if he crashes or god forbid runs someone over he'd be put inside. There is no excuse for this. However, I'm getting fed up the the old 'role-model' tag on footballers because we only hear the bad stories - Terry's affair, Gerrard fight in the bar, Bently drink driving etc - When there was limited publicity on charity work - eg Jason Roberts etc. If these guys are our role-models on the pitch then their football does the talking, their personal lives are separate. If we want them to be role-models off the pitch then I want to read stories of the good that they do in the local community - if we don't see those stories then I don't see how we can call then role-models! Finally, we all know what Diouf is like - why has nothing happened? Is it a case of 'money-buys-top-lawyer' or is it that the police can't be bothered?

double? wow lol, comon mate lets be realistic, 2 mill at max!

I fear retroflair, that I'll have to start my own newspaper, called 'Honesty' - trouble is that I'd have to have 12 pages of naked people just to sell it!
