Apparently Arsenal are keen on Paul Robinson?

Apparently Arsenal are keen on Paul Robinson?

The story doing the rounds in the last few hours has been that Arsene Wenger, sorest loser in the world, is after a new keeper.

That keeper is rumoured to be Paul Robinson.

Now I know that the keepers currently at the Emirates are fairly awful (Flapianski, Almunia and that young Mannone lad) but are Arsenal going after the Rovers stopper?

Well he is better than the three keepers currently in North London and has had a very good season in between the paint for Blackburn but the rumour mongers seem a way off with this one.

Three things they have missed.

1) Rovers would not be willing sellers.

2) Arsenal would not buy a keeper that once played for Spurs and sang along to 'stand up if you hate Arsenal' before a match.

3) Nor would Arsenal fans accept him.

This may seem a decent rumour at first but dig deeper and it has been found out as some made up drivel.

I think most Arsenal fans would accept what they got on the keeper front these days, they have not had a good consistent keeper since Seaman. However this lad is Tottenham, we know it, he knows it, so the real question is would he accept it?! I hope not, "Englands No.1, Englands, Englands No.1!!!"

On another note, I think many thought he got a fairly raw deal at Spurs in the end, sure he made a number of real howlers but the defence were far from helping back then, what do you Rovers fans think of him now he has settle in with a few seasons under his belt? Would you be happy to sell him?

wouldnt want to sell him/swap him for anything at arsenal... he had tough boots to fill when Friedel left.. and at first he didnt look like filling them.. but hes come on a lot since then.. im shocked james has got in the WC squad and not Robbo.. but maybe the Euros will be his time! If he were to go.. id be expecting at least 8-9mill for him.. but i want to keep him really.. he seems to have settled in well.. and hes become a fans fav... and he seems to like the fans as well!

Pretty much the jist of it is this... he needed to move from Spurs. He was a poisoned chalice there and needed to move to a 'lower profile' club to rebuild himself. In my eyes he is doing that. By no means is he perfect but he is as good as he has been. The odd mistake here and there but then doesn't every keeper?

Mikey, this transfer will never happen because Robinson is not good enough for Arsenal. Just like Almunia and Fabianski. Do you know Arsenal have slammed more than 40 goals past blobinson in his Spurs/ Blackburn career till now? And when you yourself think this is a weak rumour why post and discuss it in the first place? If you had speculated about Joe Hart you would be more on the mark.

Aaaah *wipes eyes* it's been over an hour now and I've finally stopped laughing at this. Why the hell would we offer this hapless porker anything other than the traditional words of mirth 'it's behind you!'. We've pumped more past this gump than ron Jeremy has had hot ******.
