Robinson misses out on World Cup squad

More on this as we get it but Paul Robinson has missed out on one of the three goalkeeping berths in the England World Cup provisional 30 man squad.

As expected, Fabio Capello has to opted to select Robert Green, David James and Joe Hart as his three goalkeepers for the tournament.

But Fabio has left Robbo at home and decided to take at least two inferior goalkeepers to Blackburn's No.1

The positive is that he now can relax and prepare for the next season.......cheers
riisenholt
No surprises here for me. He was never going to get called up, Capello has made this clear from the start by not giving him a chance. As riisenholt says he can go with the family and have a nice relaxing holiday and come back fresh for next year and have another exceptional season.

Stupid decision.

I was hoping for Robinson to make the squad. He's looked back to his best this season. I'd rather we took him than James or Green.

one of the many reasons why England won't get past the round of 16

too early to be stirring the pot?

maybe so retro!!!! I would check your group first :)
Mikey Delap
Shocking decison to be honest....doesnt fill me with any optimism that the goal will be filled by one of the nominated keepers!!!

No Robbo but JAMES and GREEN instead??? Capello u better win it mate, these two may be the reason why we don't!!
ITSALLROVER
Personally I'm not surprised that Robbo has missed out, it doesn't mean I'm not disappointed though!!
Walker
That's a real shame for Robbo, he has been great at times this season and more consistent than the others going. Also, why Green made it in ahead of Robbo is confusing considering he is quite error prone and is inexperienced at international level compared to Robbo. I also hope he doesn't view Rovers as one of the reasons he isn't going.
Durks
Capello needs to get down to specsavers - Robbo is much better than Green and james
FreidelNo.1
it didn't seem to cross anyone's mind that he should be included except for us rovers fans...inexplicable.
DommyWalker
lol its not an easy one thats for sure. sad for robbo, is there an explaination from capello?
retroflair31
The more ignorant fans like Delta Force will only look at his rep from back in his Spurs days than his current form... cheap shot? Absolutely.
Mikey Delap
inexcusable, this season robbo has been much better than green, nevermind james!, all im going to do is wait, and when james or green or even hart screws up, i will say i told you so.
