Here comes the transfer merry-go-round!

Here comes the transfer merry-go-round!

Couple of stories that have grabbed some attention this afternoon conerning Rovers and two potential inbound players.

First off is news that Aruna Dindance of Lens and currently on loan at cup finalists and financial role models Portsmouth, could maybe be on his way to Lancashire... but not to Rovers.

The rumour doing the rounds is that Bolton Wanderers could nip in and sign the speed king with a cheeky bid. Rovers are haggling over the price (sound familiar?) for the African and this could let Bolton in to steal the move.

Also of interest is that Bernard Mendy of Hull City fame is on the look out for a new club and according to the papers that new club could very well be, you guessed it, Blackburn Rovers.

Mendy would be available on a free transfer and his wages would not be too sky high so it does make sense. What doesn't make sense is that he predominantly plays right back.

Rovers have three of those already!

I can't see Sam buying anyone other than a striker. We are a man down as it is. I wonder if he might buy DiSanto... I'm sure he's going to keep Roberts and Kalinic, so we need one more - who I think needs to be a strong target man type. But as usual we'll have to wait and see!

I think Jacobsen will be sold this summer... which could pave the way for Mendy to come in.... as selling one right back for say £1.5/2million, and signing one free wouldnt be a bad deal... striker wise.. hope we dont get Di Santo... not too bothered about Dindane either if im honest... i'm thinking our best bet is to scout the world cup...

Only prob with World cup scouting is that prices are often artificial, you pay over the odds for sometimes average players!!! EG - Diouf, £10 million.

well Sam Allardyce signed Mendy once before, so it MUST be true, wer also looking at Ivan Campo and a 50 year old irishman he once signed when he was the manager of Limerick!

Sam was defo at the Hull game for a reason on Sunday which says to me that there may be some truth in the Mendy one.....as for Dindane, i like him and anyone who is mentioning Matt Derbyshire is dillusional...the guy is average at best!!!

interesting that Sam was at Hull City, whos to say he was not watching George Boateng, JVoH, or maybe even Steven Hunt!

Hunt was injured, has been for a while. He would be the only player I would want from Hull tbh and that would only be if Pedersen left. Not sure the others you mentioned SAS would do anything to our squad. The Mendy rumours are just the same as the Ben Haim ones we get. I don't see the need for SA to watch Mendy as he already knows all about him, as he was at Bolton (unless its to see if he's not passed it but I'm sure a scout would be sent to do something as trivial as that). I think it would be a shame if we miss out on Dindane as I see him working well with Niko. As for Canella from Gijon the asking price is 12 million euros. Need I say more?! I think we are likely to see a summer of a handful of unheard of potential gems that don't cost over the odds, with the majority of our budget going on 1 player, same as last summer.
