Rovers To Miss Out On Striker

Blackburn Rovers appear to have missed out on a player that was understood to be a summer transfer target after a move was apparently agreed with Borussia Dortmund.

Sam Allardyce was understood to be interested in Robert Lewandowski, however, the striker has verbally agreed a deal with Dortmund manager Michael Zorc according to German newspaper reports. The 21-year-old will cost a reported £4million, which is less than the original amount that was being mentioned (the original asking price reported for Lewandowski had made it even less likely a deal would be agreed.)

The Polish International had been keeping his options open by saying all of the teams (understood) to be interested in him appealed to him in various ways. Allardyce will identify other transfer targets and I'm certain they'll be the right players for Rovers, at the right prices.

don't know too much about the guy, could have been a gamble for £4 million or more?! is dindane a done deal? he's been on the score sheet a few times recently.
luke5045
shame really as he looks like a top finisher. really does show how the prem is out of control when clubs like Rovers are struggling to stump up 4 million. I mean in 1994 Chris Sutton was bought for 5 million.

To be fair 4 mil is about two thirds of the summer budget... Would it be wise to risk it? I am not so sure!!!

Matt Derbyshire is available again!!

Mikey Delap
I'm not sure, but I think about 3-4million. And, yep Mikey, the rumour is Celtic want him.

Please dont mention Derbyshire...the guy is no better than he was and if he was soooo good then he would not be being sold AGAIN!!! It aint gonna happen anyway boys cos he aint 6ft plus, aint 15st and aint black!!!!! ha ha - N you know i love Sam but its true!!!

have to say I was a BIG fan of Matty Derbs as he always put in 100% but he was never a first choice striker and I don't think he would be now either.
