Super Jones signs new FIVE year deal

Super Jones signs new FIVE year deal

Rovers new defending superstar has signed a new 5 year deal at the club.

A string of cracking displays since his debut against Chelsea back in March has prompted Rovers to act quick to keep a young talent at the club.

Jones had only recent signed pro terms with the club - a product of the youth academy - back at the start of the season.

But Phil, a Rovers fan, has attracted attention from Arsenal amongst others, so this new deal comes as a massive boost to player, club and fans.

Phil is now contracted to Blackburn until 2015.

Hey, Jones is still only 18 - he will be an excellent defender - and I think if Arsenal or another team came in, he probably knew that he'd not get as many chances to play as he will with us. However, I think the club have tied him to a long contract so that if any teams come sniffing they'd also have to pay a huge transfer fee.
