Rovers looking to long haul pre-season tour

Blackburn Rovers are in the process of exploring their pre-season tour options and are planning on a longer haul trip than they have been use to.

The two places being considered are America or wait for it.... Australia.

Rovers have in recent seasons gone for the Europe option for a pre-season training camp after a fairly bad trip to America a few years back ended in a mega slow start to the season points-wise.

But Rovers are looking to branch out overseas and see these two destinations as ones that will excite the fans.

Of course, the Ewood Park club will play the usual batch of friendlies back on home soil in England but a tour is being widely looked at as a good way to generate money as well as giving the players some new scenery.

I can think of at least one VBer who will be clamouring for the Rovers to hit down under.

Last time we went on tour for the long haul we got off to a shocking start in the Premier League campaign so I hope this will be done better!

Some kind of mini tournament would definitely make the friendlies much more appealing. gives the youngsters a chance to shine as well which would really benefit the squad next season.
