Reading Want To Keep Khizanishvili

Reading hope to be able to keep Blackburn Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili after an impressive loan spell.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has guided Reading from deep relegation trouble to the upper reaches of the Championship table since taking over in December and credits the input that the likes of Khizanishvili (and other loan players) have had, so keeping them is his aim.

McDermott told skysports.com: "If I get the opportunity to bring them in permanently then I would love to do that.

"I've spoken to both Andy and Zurab about how things are going and they are happy here at the moment.

"We've also got Ryan Bertrand here, on loan from Chelsea, and if we could keep him for a period of time then I would do too.

"It's a bit early for that really, but once the season is done and dusted then we will sit down and assess the options and take it from there really.

"They are all good lads that have fitted in well, and have done really well for us this season, so if there was any chance of bringing them back next season then I would take it.
"

The Monk has been a very good servant to Rovers without really getting as many chances as he might have deserved. However, his Ewood Park days are over so personally I hope that he can end up going somewhere where he'll be utilised as much as he deserves to be so why not Reading?? If they want him and something can be agreed it seems to make sense.

The time has come for the Monk to move on and I wish him well when he does, go to Reading dude they want you and you'll play!!
Walker
Got to feel sorry for him as he never really get his Ewood career going. mind you the Man City game didn't help when Petrov ran him ragged at right back a couple of seasons ago. He never seemed to complain about being a fringe player tho. Best of Luck to the fella!!
ITSALLROVER
he's certainly underrated.
DommyWalker
very professional and a good player.
LHrover
Massively underrated but Walker is right, he is done here and if Reading can get him then well done, they have got a great Championship player. Of that there is no doubt in my mind.
