Report : Olympiakos set to offer Morten deal

Reports are surfacing that Olympiakos are set to offer a 25,000 a week deal to Blackburn winger Morten Gamst Pedersen.

The Norwegian is out of contract in June and is thinking long and hard about his next move, which does include staying at Ewood Park - an

ffer which is on the table for him.

Morten was fairly dire for about two seasons out on the left wing but a shift to the left hand side of a three man field has revitalised him and Rovers are loathe to lose a talented player for nothing.

A replacement would cost a fair bit so Sam, doing the maths wants to keep Morten at the club.

The only problem is that Rovers can't offer the money that Matt Derbyshire's side can so are tempting to lure him with sentiment and a settled life.

Sam will be shopping for bargains (as usual) this summer and will not be able to increase the current wage bill.

Is it worth letting him go? Although he hasnt been great for the full duration of his last contract can we get anyone in who will be as good for free? I suspect not...

He's never hit the heights of his earlier years at Rovers. I like him and still think there is some Morten magic there somewhere but perhaps he needs a move elsewhere in order to bring it out of him again. This could also pave the way for a regular spot on the wing for Olsson or even Hoilett next season.

i have a feeling that he'll follow the path of derbs. he has fit in surprisingly well in his new role and i want him to stay. i just feel like he may want a new challenge and grab his last opportunity for a big deal.

Olympiacos is an attractive prospect- top team and Champions League football. But Gamst won't be easily replaced and i'd really prefer we kept him

Athens have also been mentioned haven't they?? Personally I think that MGP will leave for FREE, I don't want this but if this is what he want's (to get a big payday and payrise) then it's up to him. In many ways I'd like him to go as he's not got anywhere near to his early days (not regularly anyway), however, the thought of getting nothing for him isn't a nice one. We can't have it both ways though can we!!
