Schmeichel Would Cost £2 million

Blackburn Rovers have been linked with Kasper Schmeichel before, however, newspaper reports say that the goalkeeper would cost £2 million.

The son of the legendary former Danish International is expected to leave Notts County in the summer as they look to ease their debt (which is understood to stand at £6 million), however, anyone looking to pick up the 23-year-old on the cheap is going to be disappointed. Sam Allardyce is understood to be keeping an eye on Schmeichel (along with Birmingham City) but he'll not come cheap with the League Two promotion hopefuls looking to recoup the £500,000 they paid Manchester City for him last summer and make a tidy profit as well.

Personally I think that Mark Bunn and Jason Brown will be considering their options at the end of the season and could leave Ewood Park so we would need to bring in a third goalkeeper to act as cover for Paul Robinson and as competition for Frank Fielding, however, even though the former Denmark Under-21 International is a good goalkeeper can we justify paying that sort of money for a goalkeeper that isn't going to be the number one??

The dude is a good goalkeeper and would make a good signing, however, we're not going to pay £2 million for a back-up to Robbo are we!!

Sack that for a game of soldiers!!!

Notts County need the money, they will be in no position to demand £2 million. The only problem we would have if other clubs have a goalie shortage and are willing to fork out more.

Two million for this lad is way too much. He just flaps at everything. I think Sam should put more faith in Bunn (who had a great spell at Sheff Utd.) and Brown who has shown himself to be a good number 2 on a number of occasions.

Good back-up keeper who will challenge Robinson for the no. 1 shirt within a few seasons - still a bit raw, but he'd be a good investment as I'm sure within 2-3 seasons you'd make a tidy profit on him.
