Reid staying at Albion

Steven Reid is staying with WBA for the rest of the season on loan.

Reidy is over in the Midlands trying to prove his fitness to bag a new deal, be it with Rovers or West Brom.

Rovers and Reid have today decided that it is best if he stays with the Championship Club until May.

Reid told the Albion Wesbite - 'I'm delighted with the way it's gone. We've had a decent run and I'm delighted to have played so many games,'

'I think I've played five 90-minute games in 21 days. Before that I hadn't played five 90-minute matches in the league in well over a year.'

Reid faces an uncertain future as his Rovers contract is up in the summer, but Reid has put it to the back of his head as he looks to impress.

Reid added - 'My future's a bit uncertain. I've put that to the back of my mind over the last few months while I've tried to get back to fitness and I'm not letting it worry me. First and foremost I'm looking to the next game and the next 90 minutes.

'If I do well then it would be nice, contract-wise, if something could be there. If I keep performing well and that leads to a longer stay at the club then I will be delighted - and it will mean I've done well for the club.'

The end of Reidy at Rovers I would have thought?

Reidy ows us... if he leaves will be very very disapoiniting after we have payed his wages for 2 years whilst he hasnt kicked a ball..

Definitely a good point there 23! He may leave us and have a full season for WBA!!!
Mikey Delap
I don't think its his choice anymore really. I think Rovers have had enough and we need more stability and injury prone players no matter how good just don't give us that.
Durks
if what your saying is true durks, then hopefully my wishes will come true and we will sell grella in the summer!

Reid has spent more minutes on the Phsio table than on the Pitch, Players like his are justr injury prone, brilliant when fit, but Players need to do 38 games a season or they become a liability.
Buzz Lightyear
Reidy will only come back to Rovers to collect his personally belongings. After all the time, effort and money that we've invested in him he should stay, however, personally I don't think we'll even give him that chance as we'll not want to take any more risks of offering a player that has a long injury history a new contract.
Walker
I agree Walker - but on the other hand do we want to keep a player on our books or offer him a new contract if then he picks up another season long injury? I think Reid is a cracking player, but with Grella, Dunn and now Emerton all prone to injuries now can we afford another one of our 24 squad next year?
