Olsson admits to derby winning dive

Olsson admits to derby winning dive

Martin Olsson has confessed that he dived to win the penalty that won Rovers their local derby yesterday at Turf Moor against Burnley.

Olsson scored a legit goal that was ruled out moments before he won a penalty but the penalty has been the main talking point for controversy enthusiasts and Martin has stepped out and bared all (not like that!).

Martin, speaking to the wonderfully named Fotbollskanalen said - 'I thought that I was going to get a yellow card,'

'I saw that he (Jensen) stuck his foot out, but I might have overacted a little. When the referee blew I thought he was going to give me a yellow card, but it's up to the referee in that situation.'

Cracking quote.

The Olssonator however is in very fine form at present and has been one of Blackburn's best players since the turn of the year - earning him special praise from the Big Man.

Olsson continued - 'I am in good form but of course it's always nice with some praise, It's good to hear for your self confidence.'

Brilliant, i love it! I love the attitude that Martin has, he's very straight talking, the interview he gave about nearly giving up and going home, he seems like a breath of fresh air, a player who tells it as it is!!

Maybe he wouldn't have if his perfectly legitimate goal wasn't given offside. However, I have to say that I don't even care that he dived because it lead to us winning against the Dingles :D!

Remember him giving an interview about Theo Walcott last year before the Under 21's... he is like an honesty fountain ;)

I'm glad we beat Burnley, but I'm not happy about the dive - to be fair I'm glad he admitted it - as he couldn't deny it! But, I wish he stayed on his feet. From now on he'll be seen as a diver when we know he is a quality player.

Olsson shouldn't have said anything, well that is of course if he really has said what he is meant to have?? Which (if he has) the dude has been stupid with these things really!! It's best for everyone to let this go now and let it blow over, and it will be all the time Olsson and Big Sam rise to the bait of questions asked about it it'll carry on.
