Arrests Mar Lancashire Derby Win

Blackburn Rovers' 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday was overshadowed by a number of arrests made after trouble inside and outside Turf Moor.

More than 40 supporters were arrested (supporters of both sides) after pockets of disorder (as they were described) erupted, however, these were understood to have been dealt with quickly with Supt Terry Woods (from Lancashire Police) quick to point praise to the majority.

Woods said: "I would like to point out that the vast majority of fans have behaved appropriately."

A number of preventative pro-active arrests were made with supporters threatened before the match that banning orders would be issued should anyone cause any trouble.
