Kings of East Lancashire

Kings of East Lancashire

Rejoice!

Rovers this afternoon beat fierce local rivals 1-0 in a loud, passionate derby with a first half penalty from David Dunn.

For all the stick that Big Sam gets, one thing is for sure - HE GOT TODAY ABSOLUTELY BANG ON.

Rovers were resolute, strong and ultimately too powerful for the Clarets.

To make matters worse for Burnley, they have to stomach that their least liked player grabbed the only goal of the game and sends them closer to the trapdoor.

All hail the Rovers, the Kings of East Lancashire.

Well done Sam and the lads - a job really well done this season. Top half and relegation worries behind us with a couple of months to go.

Delighted with the three points, but should had been 3-0 really. Olsson's 1st goal was wrongly ruled offside, another shot hit the crossbar and cross the goal line, but not given. Nevertheless, delighted to have doubled the dingles! Great day for everyone related with Rovers!

As I was stood a few seats from hundreds of unhappy Dingles, might I take the oppurtunity to commend the policing? Although plastic bottles were flying frequently between both sets of fans, the police and stewards seemed to take a reasonable stance and only carted off the hotheads who obviouisly overstepped the line. After having surgery recently I couldn't have got out the way quickly but trouble was nipped in the bud. Oh yes, I forgot to say, "We're having a party when Burnley go down!"

Great performance - we played 4-5-1 well today. I thought that Givet was excellent today - and also probably Diouf's best game for us. Roberts, Salgado, Zonz, Samba, Jones were solid. How Olssen didn't get at least one goal amazes me! And Gamst and Dunn put in there shift too. Brown did well but was a little shaky. Well done the lads!

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
